A Brief History Of Yusuf Maitama Sule Dan Masanin Kano

Dr. Yusuf Maitama Sule was born in the year 1929, in Yola area, Kano State. Maitama is the third child in their family, Rabi, who is called Yaya ta Zage, Maimuna who is called Yaya ta Bichi. He was named Yusuf, because Madaki Kano's father's name was Mahmudu, Madaki called him Abbana. The name Maitama was given to him because of Galadiman Kano Yusuf, because we used weapons a lot during the Kano state.

Anyone named Yusuf is called Maitama. Madaki Kano gave Maitama's father, Abba Sule Danmuri, the position of overseer of all his domestic affairs and the care of horses. Maitama, when he was four years old, his mother Hauwa, who was called 'Yarkayi', died. God made her a funny woman, funny, she doesn't get angry, that's why she is called to speak in the house of the feast, her character and ability to speak is inherited by Maitama.

Madakin Kano sent Maitama to Shahuci Elementary School in January, 1937, right before he was sent to a private school, they were studying the Quran at home. In principle, four years should be spent in elementary school, but due to the talent that Maitama showed for only two years, he was given the opportunity to take the next exam.

It was at this time that Maitama faced a challenge that he had never faced in his life. Because it was on this shore that Madaki Mahmudu, who took his responsibility in life, died in 1939. The seat of Madaki was left vacant for two years, no one was appointed until 1941.

Maitama's defiance turned to his father, Abba Sule, who at that time had no power. In 1943, Maitama entered Kaduna College, at the age of 13. Maitama, completed his college studies in 1948, and started working as a Scholar in Kano Middle School.

Maitama stood to vote with him and his former teacher at school, Malam Aminu Kano, this election was held at the Central Office, Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Sule, a Kano scholar, a school teacher, a politician and  a prince. Of course, Alhaji Yusuf Maimata Sule, the son of Kano scholar, has made a great contribution in advancing individuals to the federal government.

With him, there was a struggle for freedom and to  see the effort to ensure the unity of the country and its long-term existence as a single country. Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Sule, the son of Kano scholar, worked with the five chiefs of Kano, and the governor of Kano, Audu Bako, and also worked with  Nigerian leaders from Dr. Nmandi Azikwe, until the second ascent of President Buhari 2017 God accepted the life of Yusuf Maitama Sule on Monday 3rd July 2017 AD which corresponds to 9th Shawwal 1438 Hijriyya.
