The former president of Burkina Faso who was coup d'état fled to Togo
Lieutenant Colonel Paul-Henri Damiba, who has been in power for eight months, resigned on Sunday, two days after his government was overthrown.
Reports from Burkina Faso say that the military leader of the country whose government was overthrown has fled the country and returned to Togo.
Both the coups were done as a result of increasing insecurity in the country. It is expected that a special delegation of the ECOWAS group will arrive in Ouagadougou today to try to calm the situation following the second coup in the country this year.
